Biography
Shortly after moving to Canada from Australia in 2005, Sam joined a bank owned brokerage. His work there and at 3Macs has exposed him to the intricacies of helping clients create and manage their wealth, with a specific focus on the unique needs of high-net-worth professionals and business owners.
Sam holds a Bachelor of Business (majoring in Financial Planning) from RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia, and has acquired the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designations.
The CFA Program is a graduate-level curriculum that provides a strong foundation of the real-world investment analysis, portfolio management skills, and practical knowledge needed to navigate today’s investment industry. CFA charterholders are recognized for their unbending integrity and serious commitment to professional conduct and education.
Investment Philosophy
Sam and his team believe a financial advisor’s job is to help our clients accomplish their financial goals in a manner that they are confident in and comfortable with. In our opinion, there is only one way to do this: By investing in high-quality, dividend-paying stocks that have been able to grow their dividend year after year. Companies that choose to share their success with their shareholders in this way must manage their capital expenditures to grow the business faster than they grow the dividend. To do this, dividend growth companies develop innovative ways of increasing efficiencies and managing resources. Experience, as well as academic research, has shown us that forming a portfolio of such companies has outperformed the underlying benchmark time and time again.
