Christmas Marketplace

It was an honour and pleasure to spend a day at the Christmas Marketplace. Isabel, Loretta & Chris got to meet many like-minded community volunteers and to share a smile or a hug with the clients that came out.

It is an annual event at the Good Shepherd Venture Centre that brings the joy of the holiday season to more than 6,000 people. Good Shepherd welcomes approximately 2,300 households to stroll the aisles of our marketplace for food, clothing and new toys.

A wide variety of organizations – private companies, schools, service groups – come together to help Good Shepherd prepare for the 10 days of the Christmas Marketplace.

During shopping time Good Shepherd welcomes more than 1,000 volunteers who support shoppers, bag groceries and toys, and restock the shelves.

Breakfast with Santa

During the Christmas we are reminded that there are many families in Hamilton who don’t have a safe and warm home for the Holidays. The Good Shepherd Family Centre offers a welcoming place where families can live while accessing services and support that help them avoid homelessness.

Good Shepherd hosts an annual Breakfast with Santa, organized for residents of the Good Shepherd Family Centre. This a wonderful day for parents and their children who live at the Family Centre.

Every year, Suzanne Lemaich and her family generously give their time and resources, with help from their friends & with donations from our community, to organize the Breakfast.
