Doug's Story
We decided to go to mediation in an attempt to resolve the situation amicably. I presented my analysis, suggesting how we could fairly divide our shared assets. I hoped that this route would save time, money, and emotional energy.
What followed, however, was far from what I had envisioned.
Seven years, eight different lawyers, and hundreds of thousands of dollars later, we were still embroiled in legal battles. Mediation, arbitration, and multiple court appearances dragged on year after year. Despite our best efforts, the process felt like an endless cycle—much like going to court over and over again. Ultimately, the outcome was legally binding, but the time, effort, and money spent felt like an utter waste.
It was a turning point. Exhausted and disillusioned, I made a decision that changed my perspective entirely: I would no longer let this long, drawn-out process consume me. I chose to focus on more meaningful pursuits.
It was at that moment that I made the decision to dedicate a part of our practice to supporting individuals navigating the divorce process. Our goal is simple: to help them avoid wasting time and money on unnecessary legal battles.
