HOBBIES
Football: Some of my favourite memories are playing high school football. In 1989 my high school team won our division City Championship in my senior year. I had the great fortune to play football as a linebacker for the UofA Golden Bears and although it was a wonderful experience, nothing can substitute the feeling of playing the beautiful game of football with high school friends.
I have continued my passion for amateur football by coaching the senior football team at Paul Kane High School. We have had a lot of fun AND success in the four years the program has been in existence, winning the Junior City Championships in our first year and the Senior City Championship in our third and fourth year. With a small number of players relative to most other teams, we often have boys playing multiple football positions. This forces everyone to rely on each other. Our core value system involves a Team First approach. All decisions at every level are made with this in mind and the boys learn how to work very effectively as a group and many boys have formed life-long bonds. I believe that these team football experiences become lifelong skills that help high school boys become men with integrity, generosity, and compassion towards others.
