About Victor Medina-Leal
Educated in Canada and Switzerland, with graduate studies in Political Science, Economics and International Relations, I have significant experience in a wide range of disciplines within wealth management. I hold the Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) and Financial Management Advisor (FMA) designations and the Options trading licence. I am a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and I am licensed to advise my clients on their insurance-related and estate-planning needs.
My Clients
My clients plan for the future. They are investors not speculators. They avoid unnecessary risks. For them, financial wealth is not an end in itself but a means to achieving a quality of life into their retirement years that expresses their values and priorities.
My clients know that as their net worth increases over time, or as they approach retirement, they will face more complex financial decisions. They value our relationship because they know that it will keep pace with their need for increasingly more sophisticated wealth management advice.
Services
In my practice I bridge the traditional distinction between investment advisor and financial planner. "Investing" and "financial planning" complement and reinforce each other within fully integrated wealth management strategies that reflect the unique financial expectations of my clients.
My investment philosophy rests on the principle that the essence of investing is the management of risk. This philosophy echoes my clients' insistence on capital preservation. Our common goal is to maximize their after-tax returns consistent with the risk that they are willing to take.
I value the trust that my clients give me; their needs are always at the forefront of our relationship. I am not bound to recommend in-house investment solutions nor do I use investment products for which I would be compensated by third parties.
The relationship that I have with my clients is free of this conflict of interest. Indeed, I have structured my practice on a transparent fee-based model where my clients compensate me directly for the financial stewardship that they expect from me. I work for them.
