I am one of the founding partners of the South Delta Financial Group of Raymond James and have16 years of experience as a Financial Advisor, specializing in conservative wealth management and financial planning. With a versatile work history, my professional life includes 25+ years as a Professional Engineer with extensive worldwide project management experience in multiple sectors of the engineering and construction industry.
My specialties include an integrated approach to wealth management by coordinating clients’ portfolios with their retirement aspirations, risk management, as well as tax and estate planning strategies and goals. Whether you are planning to retire comfortably, save for college for children or grandchildren, or are just trying to protect the financial future of the ones you care about most, I can work with you to develop specific strategies to help you achieve your goals. This includes meeting with you on a regular basis and taking the time to really listen to ensure that your investments remain suitable for your objectives throughout changing personal and market conditions.
Trust, confidentiality, integrity, adherence to professional standards, and my ability to communicate effectively with individuals and stakeholders were vital in my success as a Professional Engineer. Those same principles and strengths, as well as my commitment to my clients’ well-being through sound and disciplined investment advice, have allowed me to build strong, long term relationships with each of the families I work with.
In addition to my role at Raymond James, I am extremely active in the community, serving as a Director for the Delta Police Foundation, Director of Membership for the Tsawwassen & Boundary Bay Lions Group, and I’m on the events committee with Reach Child and Youth Development Society. I also volunteer with the Ismaili Volunteer Corp., canvass yearly for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society and the Canadian Kidney Foundation, and support the Ladner Community Kitchen.
My passion is to make a difference in the lives of people in my community as well as the wider Canadian and global community. What resonates with me is the improvement of the quality of life of disadvantaged people.
I grew up in Uganda and lived internationally in England, Scotland, and Saudi Arabia before moving to Canada in 1981. I have been living in South Delta for the last 24 years and have been married to Shahenas, a registered nurse, for 32 years. I am the proud father of Haafiz, who is in digital advertising, and Farhana, who is a physiotherapist. When not working or volunteering, I love road biking, reading, walking, travelling, and listening to music.
