Events
We believe it's important to get to know our clients and their families on a personal level.
That's why we host fun, educational and charitable events throughout the year and encourage you and your friends and family to join us.
Goddess Run
Dee-Ann is a sponsor of the Goddess Run, which takes place each year along the beautiful trails around Elk/Beaver Lake with both 5k and 10k distances. The team is on site with our tent at the event each year with some educational resources and treats for the runners.
The Goddess Run is a community of women and girls who come together to celebrate their stories, goals, and challenges. The charities supported by the run include the Victoria Women's Transition House and Victoria Hospice.
Tour de Cure
Dee-Ann has captained the Raymond James BC Team for the Tour de Cure event in support of BC Cancer that has been held at the end of August. The ride covered approximately 220kms over two days - from Cloverdale to Chlliwack on the first day and then Chilliwack to Hope on the second day.
After the ride in August 2024, the difficult decision was made to end the Tour de Cure after 16 years of the event. Dee-Ann and the Raymond James BC Team is determined to continue to make an impact through independent fundraising rides in future years.
BC SPCA Gala
Our team is a sponsor of the BC SPCA’s Victoria Gala, which raises money to power BC SPCA Victoria's essential programs: sheltering and adoptions, pet food bank and outreach services, veterinary care, wildlife rehabilitation, and summer camps and school programs for kids.
Power to Be
Our team volunteers with Power to Be at their property on Prospect Lake Road. We have helped with yardwork and weeding, as well as doing some quality control testing on some of their outdoor equipment. Power To Be is a non-profit organization that creates access to nature for youth, families, and adults living with cognitive, physical, financial, and social barriers.
Victoria Grizzlies
We have taken on a sponsorship of the Victoria Grizzlies junior hockey team. Our sponsorship is helping cover costs for the team and helping with the development of this young talent in our community. Pop down to the Q Centre for a game and you will see our team name on the boards in the far corner!
2023 - Snow to Surf Race
Dee-Ann and Hayley, along with a few other members of the Raymond James Victoria branch competed in the 2023 Snow to Surf Race. Dee-Ann did the Road Biking leg and Hayley took on the Canoeing!
2022 - Victoria 55+ BC Games
The 55+ BC Games came to Victoria in 2022 and our team was a sponsor on-site at their venue at the Q-Center for all five days of the games.
The Games attracted 4,000 participants from all regions of the Province to compete in 30 sports across Greater Victoria, from Orienteering to Equestrian to Triathlon. This was an exciting opportunity for our team to be part of an event that promotes an active lifestyle, making new friends and community spirit.
As part of our involvement with the Games, we partnered with the Food Bank to raise funds and food for the community. We raised over $1000 which we donated to the Goldstream Food Bank

2022 - United Way Golf Tournament
In September 2022, Graydon represented our team in the United Way Southern Vancouver Island Golf Tournament at the Victoria Golf Club. As Hole sponsors for the tournament, the rest of the team were on-site at one of the holes playing some games with the golf participants and enjoying the beautiful view of the ocean beyond the golf course. It was a fun day of golf, games, and fundraising for a great cause.
2022 – 5K for Kids
Our team took part in this virtual event to do 5K anyway in support of Drug Free Kids Canada. We walked around beautiful Elk Lake.
2022 - Women in Finance Information Session at University of Victoria
Dee-Ann and her Team hosted an informal and informative ‘Women in Finance’ forum-style event for students at the University of Victoria with the goal of creating an open space for Women to have a discussion about the financial services industry, which is typically male-dominated. The students had the opportunity to hear from the team about what we do at Raymond James, what it takes to be successful in Wealth Management, and how to navigate the industry.
We are grateful to have had the opportunity to connect with so many passionate students and share our experiences with them while hopefully inspiring the next generation of Wealth Managers!
2021 – Amazing Scavenger Hunt
The Werner Mayburry Wealth Management team volunteered at the Amazing Scavenger Hunt: Peninsula Challenge in Sidney, BC.
The scavenger hunt is a challenge where teams must navigate through clues and pick up points by doing challenges on their way to designated locations. Teams were dressed up and got awarded a prize for team spirit, top fundraiser and the best team. At our Raymond James station the teams were challenged to make a limerick. We enjoyed hearing their creations, and are proud to have helped the Saanich Peninsula Hospital and Healthcare foundation raise nearly $15,000.
